365 Black Awards – McDonald’s Inspiration
Hi Verbs! It’s time for some inspiration!
The 365 Black Awards last night was filled with inspiration! If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, here are a few highlights and quotes that you will want to know about.
McDonalds 365 Inspiration
The night was filled with star power and great music from Chrisette Michelle, Anthony Hamilton, Kelly Price, Eric Benet, and an Toni Braxton tribute lead by the Braxton Sisters!
There was one awardee that touched my heart, and that was Donovan Smith.
Young Donovan Smith received the Community Choice Youth Award (CCYA) for his efforts to help raise money for St. Martins Shower Room , an organization helping families effected by homelessness, after his family aided from their support by creating creative soap designs.
Donovan Smith’s Motto: “Do what you can.”
His acceptance speech was filled with little nuggets of wisdom that you usually wouldn’t expect from a 13 year old. He acknowledged the young black men that lost their lives that lives to police brutality, and made it clear that they exist and are doing amazing things despite the obstacles that may be in their way!
