Our Wedding Day, Our Way | Small Wedding Tips
Enjoy the little things, because one day you will realize those little things are priceless.
~Kyla
The moment Josh and I started talking about our wedding day, we both agreed we didn’t want to do anything big. We wanted to do something special that would make our unit tighter. Every person there had to be touched. We wanted to laugh, eat well, and make memories. The day couldn’t be overshadowed by logistics and had to be full of love. So with just our immediate family in tow, we headed over to Annapolis for a small ceremony, an amazing photo session, and dinner.
Our family is growing, and I am thankful to have this special day as our foundation.
Here are a few pictures from the day:
The day was prefect! If you are thinking about doing a small and intimate wedding, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Small Wedding Tips:
- Make a list of the things that are important to you. For me I knew my flowers had to have a meaning. From the Eucalyptus that I always smelled at my grandmothers house to the unfinished wedding cake symbolizing us starting our journey… Everything meant something.
- Don’t get trapped in “what has to happen” for your day to be special. There was a lot of things people thought I would miss or regret if I didn’t do it, and I can’t say I do. I honestly, had moments that I would probably would have missed if I did it another way.
- Send Special Announcements. For those family members and friends that did not attend, send them a special announcement in the mail and setup a special webpage just for them so they are still a part of your day.
- Capture the Moment. Be sure to capture special moments from the day. I have so many pictures from everyone’s phones that are priceless, but I also hired a photographer to ensure we had family pictures to hang and share.
To all of our family and friends — Thank you for supporting us! We truly love you all and look forward to seeing you in the near future. Be sure to visit the website on the announcement for special candid moments from the day.
