My Father

My father has played a major role in my life as my protector, best friend, spiritual advisor and role model.

As I get older,  I have a growing appreciation for his love and sacrifice throughout the years, and I am truly thankful for him.

My father showed me what love is through daily action. 

He showed me what love is from a man, and that made it hard for me to accept anything less than what I knew was right.

As a father to two girls, he lived in a house of women that required him to deal with mood swings, hair bows and make-up. Despite the challenges, you embraced the experience with lots laughter.

Now our family has turned into a house full of boys, and it warms my heart to see him do “guy things” with his sons and grandsons.

Fight for What You Want

This is the legacy my father has gifted me throughout the years.

My dad has some major accomplishments under his belt! His resume precedes him and his personality is a gift to so many. But for me, I think about my father’s legacy that feeds me every day — it is his resilience and fight that I look up to and admire.

He has gifted me the ability to swim upstream and fight for what I want in life.

I watched my father make the life he saw fit for his family despite obstacles, naysayers and brick walls.

He showed me what can be done with a little faith and hard work. And every single time I face an obstacle, I realize the only person that can stop me from getting past it is myself.

All thanks to my father, I learned how to fight!

Something good can be found in every scenario you experience in your life, and it is completely up to you to use it as a building block.

My dad has showed me this time and time again. This is a piece of his legacy that lives in my heart forever, and show through in the life of his wife, daughters, sons, and grandsons.
