What is Endometriosis?
What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a chronic illness that affects over 176 million women around the World, including me.
There is no cure for Endometriosis, however, that doesn’t mean that women with it can’t live full and fulfilling lives. This painful disease occurs when the lining of the uterus travels to other parts of the body and become inflamed causing extreme pain.
Endometriosis Symptoms
Endometriosis looks different on everyone woman. Hence the difficulty women have with being diagnosed. Some of the common symptoms include, but are not limited to the following:
- Painful menstrual cycles
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Fatigue
- Heat Sweats
- Muscle spasms
The uterine tissue can travel to any part of a woman’s body and has affected a woman’s sight, breathing, and other bodily functions during a flare-up. As a result, it is difficult for women to be diagnosed based off of listing their symptoms.
Stages of Endometriosis
There are four stages of Endometriosis. These stages are used to determine the severity of the condition based on where the tissue is found and how it can affect the woman’s fertility and pain levels.
My Journey with Endometriosis
I have talked a lot about my journey with this chronic pain on PinkProverb.com, and for that reason, I plan to be more informative as I should be for other women looking for answers about the condition. It took me a while to get to a place of understanding about what was happening with my body, and I am ready to share it all to help someone else along their path to relief.
