Where to Find Tea in Charleston

If you have been following the blog for a while, you already know I have a love affair with Charleston, SC. It is one of those places that gives me everything I need.  Southern love, weather and comfort, history, food, fashion and finds.

Nestled on the serene Wadmalaw Island, the Charleston Tea Garden (formerly known as Charleston Tea Plantation) is a must-visit destination for tea lovers and those seeking a unique Lowcountry experience. As the only tea plantation in North America, this iconic location offers a blend of natural beauty, history, and tea culture that sets it apart as Charleston’s top tea location.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, exploring the Charleston Tea Garden is an unforgettable way to connect with the rich heritage of tea production in the United States.

Why Charleston Tea Garden Is a Top Tea Location

The Charleston Tea Garden stands out for its unique role in American tea production and its commitment to sustainability and quality. Here’s what makes it a must-visit:

  1. One-of-a-Kind Experience
    • The Charleston Tea Garden is the only tea farm in North America where visitors can see tea grown, harvested, and processed on-site.
  2. Rich History
    • The tea garden’s roots trace back to 1963 when tea bushes were first planted on Wadmalaw Island. It has since become a symbol of Charleston’s agricultural innovation.
  3. Exceptional Tea
    • The plantation produces American Classic Tea, known for its smooth flavor and high quality, which has been proudly served in the White House.

Last time I went, I found the cutest historical hotel and explored the joys of horse and carriage rides. And, there was so much more I wanted to do.

Think of any and every honey fusion, and you will find it at the Savannah Bee Company. Honey you grill with, honey you bake with, honey to get you tipsy, and honey to wear… They got ALL the honey you need and they let you taste them!
