Family Picnic Ideas | Healthy Snacks in the Sienna
Let’s talk about creative ways to get out the house in these COVID streets. Quick answer, pop the trunk and have a healthy picnic with the family! If you are anything like me, I am still trying to find creative ways to have family experiences in our new COVID World. Staycations have always been a go-to for me, but that hasn’t always been the easiest. We had to get creative, and I realized it’s not that hard!
All you need is a good day to be outside, a clean trunk, and some of your favorite snacks.
Healthy Picnic Snacks
Here in Maryland, we had a burst of good weather. So, I decided to create a couples picnic lunch date. My husband and I are both cutting back and eating healthier. We have 2020 pounds we need to shed.
To help us both, I grabbed so of our favorite healthy snacks that made it feel like weren’t missing a beat.
Here are some of my favorite healthy snack foods for a picnic:
- Salsa & Guacamole (Chips optional. You can always sub for veggies)
- Colorful Grapes
- A cheese board (This would be a great opportunity to try vegan options)
- Dehydrated fruit (My absolute favorite!)
- Trail Mix
- Veggie Tray
- Vegetable Juice (We had celery and lemon juice)
Picnics in the back of our Sienna is now our new favorite place to spend time together. We are planning to switch up the location and take int a few new views now that Spring is here, and I will keep you guys posted on new picnic date ideas, as well as family picnic ideas for kids!
Don’t be surprised if you see us at the local farms having our picnics. 🙂
If you know of any good places to have a picnic in the Maryland area, please share!
