Who I am

Today Is Not Who I Had to Be to Survive…

My name is Kyla Canzater—creator, founder, and the woman behind PinkProverb.com and Healthy Kyla. This space was born from a simple truth:
I got tired of surviving through pain in silence.

Years of …

endometriosis, inflammation, emotional exhaustion, and over-functioning for everyone but myself forced me into a healing that wasn’t pretty… but was necessary.

I built PinkProverb to reclaim my time, my peace, and my voice—and to help other women do the same. Not from a place of perfection, but from lived experience, truth, and a deep belief in what’s possible when we finally choose ourselves.

My Healing

Journey

(And Why I Take Control Now)

For most of my life, I avoided slowing down. Productivity felt safer than presence. Helping others felt easier than healing myself.
But chronic pain, burnout, and the overwhelming pressure to carry everything alone eventually forced a reckoning.

Healing didn’t arrive in a single moment.

It came through small, everyday choices:

• Anti-inflammatory foods that actually soothed my body
• Deep rest when my symptoms demanded it
• Choosing travel as a way to reconnect with myself
• Breaking generational patterns around self-sacrifice

Learning the courage to walk away from what drains me and…

Rebuilding a life centered on joy, wellness, and aligned energy

PinkProverb is the living archive of my journey—my recipes, rituals, tools, and reflections as a Black woman creating a healthier, softer, more intentional life.

A New Chapter:

Standing Fully In My Power

Today, my life looks very different from the one I once survived.

I am a mother, a wellness storyteller, a board leader in health and equity, a traveler committed to rest and ritual, and a woman choosing peace over proving.

I’m rebuilding my life in real time—with softness, discipline, and self-honesty.

If you’re here, you’re probably rebuilding something too.
And you’re in the right place.

Where to go next

The little things…

A few

Things I Believe

  • Healing requires honesty, not perfection.
  • You can rebuild your life at any moment—even now.
  • Wellness should feel like relief, not pressure.
  • Black women deserve softness, support, and space.
  • Food is medicine. Rest is medicine. Travel is medicine.
The Story

Behind the Name

“Pink Proverb” came from the belief that life is full of small lessons—proverbs—that guide us back to ourselves.

Pink represents softness, love, tenderness, and returning home.
Proverbs represent wisdom, clarity, and evolution.

This platform is where those two worlds meet.
