Maryland Travel: Hampden To-do’s
#TravelJourney
My wanderlust spirit usually comes out around this time, and I have the innate desire to find new things that give me life – sweets, drinks, good vibes, and laughter with friends. I didn’t want to travel too far for adventure, and I found myself in Hampden, Baltimore where the streets are filled with unique shops and eatery’s.
Hampden Fact: The Annual HunFest is here every year. Check it out on June 13.
The first stop on my list was the +The Charmery. It has received raving reviews on +Yelp and was voted “Best in Baltimore” in the +Baltimore magazine last year. Intrigued by its’ ice cream flavors names — Cheddar Cheese Popcorn, Maryland Zoo, Lemon Stick, Nanner Pudding, and the vegan Gheorghe Mira-Tang –. Tempted to try everything flavor in a huge sundae, I settled for a double scoop mixing Old Bay Carmel and Fresh Mint with Figgy Lime Swirl in a waffle cone. It was absolutely amazing and worth every calorie!

The fun didn’t stop there. Taking the time to celebrate the birthday of my dear friend +Cassandra Vincent, we found ourselves drifting into a local art gallery for a play, making a few stops by consignment stores in the avenue, and ending up at one of my favorite restaurants — The Food Market. There is no other place like it in Baltimore with seasonal drinks, gourmet comfort food and great conversations with the owner about travel and food makes you feel like you are at home.
If you are looking a low-key place to shop, eat, take in street art and enjoy great company Hampden is definitely a place you would want to check out.
