Easy Natural Easter Egg Dye

If you are looking for a healthy way to dye Easter eggs with your little ones, this is for you.

Easter is a Christian holiday celebrated annually, which means every year we have an opportunity to sprinkle in a little healthy fun for the whole family!

Easter is a time of celebration and fun. If you are looking for healthy Easter activities for kids, this is the post for you! I love taking the time to introduce my little one to healthy eats around the kitchen and showing him how to have fun with them along the way! We love to decorate eggs and hide them around the house. It is a great way to teach children about colors, shapes, numbers, patterns, and other concepts.

Easter Crafts

Making natural dye Easter eggs is an easy Easter craft perfect for toddlers and little ones who love to “accidentally” put things in their mouths! It is a worry-free activity for moms who know their fearless little ones enjoy exploring with their hands. Also, this organic egg dyeing process will help limit the amount of harmful red dye chemicals your child comes in contact with while celebrating with treats.

Tips for Making Natural Easter Egg Dye

When using natural Easter egg dye there are a few things you will need to know.

  1. First, it will take some time and a few extra dips to get deep, intense colors.
  2. Vinegar is your friend with this project, especially with your yellow colors. If you find that the color isn’t showing up, try adding a little more vinegar to your mix.

Easter Egg Counting Activities

Easter Egg hunting is a fun and easy way to strengthen counting skills with your little one. But, it is also a fun way to teach differentiating skills.

My little one and I counted our way through the entire activity, and he loved it! It also helped me break up the fun and catch my breath as he danced his way through each step!

If you are looking for more learning activities this Easter holiday, here are a few easy ideas:

  1. Directional “Hide & Seek”: Hide your eggs around the house and give your child hints on where to find them using directions: left, right, forward, and backward. I personally love to use “L” with the fingers to reinforce left from right.
  2. Color Theory “Mix”: Create primary color dyes, and encourage your little one to mix and see what new colors they can create.
  3. Make it Roll! Instead of letting your eggs dry after the first dip, grab a sheet of white paper and roll it across it to make a cool tie-dye art project.
