5 Best Pumpkin Patches in Maryland (2021)
It is officially Fall, which means it’s time to visit the best Pumpkin Patches in Maryland! This is a family adventure we like to take every year. And, my son is a true fan of visiting our local farms and nurseries. I feel like going to the pumpkin is the thing you must do to bring in Fall the right way. And, it’s not just about picking up the perfect pumpkin, it is about making family memories and embracing all the goodies that come with the changing of the seasons.
Things that I look for in the perfect Pumpkin Patch for 2021:
- Open space for social distancing
- Activities my little on can engage in while there
- Seasonal goodies we can take home
- The perfect Fall scenic backdrop for a good photo
The one thing I love about Maryland is that there are so many local farms and nurseries around the Baltimore area that offer options that include all of the above.
Here are my top Pumpkin Patches to Visit in Maryland
- Baugher’s Orchard & Farm
- Weber’s Cider Mill Farm
- Larriland Farm
- Valley View Farms Garden Center
- Butler’s Farm
Okay, so here is the breakdown of why I love these 5 places!!
Baugher’s Orchard & Farm
This is a family favorite! Baugher’s offers pick your own pumpkins and apples during the Fall. For my son, it is all about the tracker ride through the fields and the playground. And, for me, I absolutely love the farmers market and seasonal treats like apple cider lushes and apple pie to take home. You can also do some apple picking while your are there. The farm also has a petting zoo that makes for a great farm trip.
We always have an extra quiet ride home, because Klay is usually tried from all the activities.
Weber’s Cider Mill Farm
Weber’s is a Baltimore local go-to! It is about 15 minutes or less from the city, and it is packed with family fun. They have a family friendly maze, lots of pumpkins to grab, and Klay’s favorite — classic trackers for a great picturesque moment. The have a full indoor market for seasonal goodies. Make sure you grab the apple cider donuts. They are a must have!
Larriland Farm
Larriland is another farm that allows you to pick you own. And while you are grabbing your pumpkin, you can cut your own flowers, pick some apples, pears, tomatoes and beets! They offer hayrides through the woods which is perfect for the older kids, as well as, a petting zoo for the little ones and a bee hive that my son absolute loves inside of the market. Let me know if you can find the queen bee. It took us forever!!
Valley View Farms Garden Center
If you are a looking to pick a unique pumpkin without going on an actual farm, you have to visit one of my favorite garden centers in Maryland! Valley view offers a seasonal farm like experience that is never over packed that my little one loves. They have rows and rows of pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors. They have the cutest hay maze, and they always have the BIG pumpkin for Fall pictures. The other thing I love about this garden center, is you can pick up your seasonal plants and herbs for all of your Fall Decor!
Butler’s Farm
This is going to be an all day event! If you are looking for a place jam packed with activities, food, and more; this is the place for you! Butler’s Farm doesn’t just offer pumpkin picking, they offer a Fall Festival!
