5 Step Skincare Self-Love ritual: Turning Routine into Ritual

Why Skincare Became Sacred for Me

Easy Steps to Learning How To Love Yourself Deeply

After I had my son Klay, my skin changed dramatically. I started struggling with hormonal acne, and like so many of us, I tried to figure it out alone. I followed endless skincare TikToks, invested in elaborate Korean skincare routines, and bought way too many products.

It wasn’t until I sat down with my dermatologist that I realized there were simpler, more natural things I could do to heal my skin while also showering myself with love and patience. That’s when I was introduced to zinc facial soap—and within days, I saw a real change.

I let go of heavy oil cleansers, switched to lighter oils like argan and rosehip oil, and started exfoliating gently. My skincare ritual stopped being about fixing flaws and became about affirming myself. As I massaged in my moisturizer or rolled a gua sha tool across my face, I whispered words like:

  • I am worthy.
  • I am enough.
  • Abundance flows to me.
  • I am at peace.
  • All of my wants, needs, and desires are met.

It became less about acne and more about alignment—my inner dialogue softening as I cared for my skin.

Cleanse with Intention (Zinc Soap) – Zinc soap supports acne-prone and sensitive skin while giving your face a fresh start. Massage it gently and let it become your moment of grounding.

Moisturize with Self-Touch (Rosehip Oil) – Choose oils and creams that hydrate without clogging pores. Apply them as though you’re blessing your skin with love.

Add Tools for Care (Gua Sha / Jade Roller) – Relieve tension and make your skincare soothing, not rushed.

Set the Mood (Beeswax Candle) – The soft honey-like scent of beeswax candles calms your senses and makes the space feel sacred.

Seal with Affirmations – Say them while looking in the mirror: “I am enough. I am at peace. I am worthy.”

1. Cleanse with Intention

Don’t rush through it. Massage your cleanser into your skin with slow, circular motions. Let it be grounding, not just cleansing.

2. Moisturize with Self-Touch

Apply your moisturizer like you’re giving your skin a love note. Linger. Breathe. Thank your body.

3. Add Oils or Serums with Care

Gua sha, jade roller, or even your fingertips can help you turn serum time into a calming massage ritual.

4. Light a Candle or Play Soft Music

Shift the mood in your space. Skincare is not a chore—it’s an act of care.

5. End with Gratitude in the Mirror

Look at yourself and affirm: “I am worthy of care. I choose to love myself in this moment.”
