Smoothie is Bae.

Smoothies have become a go-to for me when dealing with my Endometriosis!

For the last month, I have had a special relationship with my smoothies to the point my co-workers and random people in the grocery store have me writing down my recipes for them. But here is the thing, it took me a while (years)to get to a place where I can say I found a happy medium between taste and substance, and now smoothie making has become a part of my daily routine.

The Start of the Smoothie Journey

A couple of weeks ago I knew I wanted to start having more protein smoothies for breakfast and lunch, but I couldn’t seem to get the taste right and I didn’t know why. So I turned to my local Smoothie King, and realized what my problem was — my protein powder was throwing off my taste buds.

Most protein powders had an aftertaste that I was either trying to cover-up or gulp down when sipping. I got a taste of Sun Warrior’s vegan protein powder in the Mango Kale Smoothie from Smoothie King, and my life changed!

For about 3 weeks, I would go to Smoothie King one day and order my same smoothie (Mango Kale). I would ask the guy making my smoothie every question under the sun (we created an amazing bond), and then I would try to make it myself at home. Some days it was good, other days not so good, but now I know exactly what I need to have an amazing smoothie experience.

Smoothie Making Tips

    1. Find a good protein powder that works for you. I realized that a plant-based protein is what I needed. It works extremely well with my Endometriosis diet, and there is no aftertaste! Am a fruit girl. tried protein smoothies with peanut butter, and no matter how well they were made it was always bad news for me. Either savory or sweet, stay true to what you love.
